❗Mass exodus of various vessels and sailboats underway getting out of the way of what will be a very dangerous category 4 hurricane Beryl that is fast approaching!

No two hurricanes are exactly alike. I’m hearing some people saying this looks like Katrina, or “I’m having flashbacks of Ian.”

Here are the paths of Katrina and Ian. Beryl looks more like Ian so far, but that doesn’t mean anything for the USA! What steers the path under, over, around, or through Cuba will be the upper level front, and in each and every storm, that front dips differently, or doesn’t dip at all. Every day the meteorologists will give us a little more information about what’s most likely to happen.

Wind sheer will determine whether this monster will get to continue on or have its head chopped off. I’ve seen Cat 4’s hacked to pieces before hitting the US, and I’ve seen wind sheer fail to come to the rescue. Again, watch and see.

Most importantly… Watch the RADAR for storm track! Live radar shows the actual eye moving along, so you can see exactly where it is at all times. I watched hurricanes Irma, Ian, and Nicole in real time as I moved to where they weren’t.

You don’t have to evacuate to Saskatchewan to be safe. Go somewhere within 100 miles or so of where the storm is. Get on higher ground. Check flood zones. Evaluate if they tell you to.
