The Olympics is a huge uproar in boxing in Paris. Why is that?

Fire without smoke at the Paris Olympics in the boxing category Double standards

There was a stir on social media today after the end of a boxing fight between Algerian Iman Khalif Against Italian angela carini

After the start of the fight and the Italian receiving two strong punches, she decided to withdraw from the fight
Minutes later, a fierce campaign, bullying, and slander targeted Algerian boxing and Safin.

She is a man competing with women in the boxing
These allegations were so popular that they reached the most famous international figures, including Elon Musk and the Italian Prime Minister.

Which declared that this withdrawal of Italian boxing was due to unfairness

Algerian boxing may suffer from a hormonal imbalance, but she is a woman, not a man, as some claim, and as evidenced by pictures of the girl when she was young.

The Olympic Committee did not stand idly by and issued a statement denouncing this fierce campaign against Algerian boxing and affirming that it fulfills all the special conditions that allow it to participate in the competition.

The International Olympic Committee defends faith #Khalif and makes a strong statement to IBA:

Statement:
* The present document was not edited before being sent to the United Nations translation services.

"Everyone has the right to exercise without discrimination."

All athletes participating in the boxing competitions for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games abide by the rules of eligibility and the rules on entry to the competition, in addition to all the medical rules in force, established by the boxing unit in Paris 2024. As with previous Olympic boxing competitions, the sex and age of athletes depend on their passport.

These rules were applied during the qualifying period, including the European Games 2023, Asian Games, Pan American Games, Pacific Games, African Refinements 2023, and two World Championships in Posto Arcesio (Italy) and Bangkok (Thailand) in 2024, in which a total of 1471 different boxers from 172 National Olympic Committees, the Refugee Boxing Team and individual neutral athletes participated, and more than 2,000 qualifying challenges were experienced.

The World Boxing Federation (RBU) used the boxing bases in Tokyo 2020 as a basis for developing its Paris 2024 regulations, to reduce the influence on athletes ' preparations and to ensure harmony between the Olympic Games. These Tokyo 2020 rules were based on the post-Rio 2016 rules, which were in force before the International Boxing Union (IBA) was suspended by the International Olympic Committee in 2019 and subsequently withdrawn in 2023.

In various reports, we have seen misleading information about two athletes competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The athletes have been competing in international boxing competitions for many years in the women's category, including the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the International Boxing Association World Championship and the International Boxing Association championships.

The two athletes were victims of a sudden and arbitrary decision by the International Boxing Association at the end of the International Boxing Association World Championship in 2023, where they were suddenly excluded without due process.

In accordance with the records of the International Boxing Association available on its website, this decision was first taken by the Secretary-General and the Executive Chairman of the International Boxing Association only, since it was only subsequently approved by the Board of Directors of the International Boxing Federation, after which he requested the establishment of a procedure to be followed in similar cases in the future and to be reflected in the regulations of the International Boxing Union. The minutes also state that the International Boxing Federation must "develop a clear procedure on sex testing."

The current aggression against athletes is based entirely on this arbitrary decision, which was taken without any proper action, especially since the two athletes have been competing in high-level competitions for many years, and such actions run counter to good governance.

The eligibility rules should not be changed during the current competition, and any change in the rules must follow the appropriate processes and must be based on scientific evidence.

The International Olympic Committee is committed to protecting the human rights of all athletes participating in the Olympic Games in accordance with the Olympic Charter, the International Olympic Committee Code of Ethics and the International Olympic Committee Strategic Framework on Human Rights. The International Olympic Committee is saddened by the abuse currently being received by the two athletes.

The International Olympic Committee withdrew its recognition of the International Boxing Federation in 2023 following its suspension in 2019, and the Sports Court of Arbitration (CAS) confirmed the withdrawal of the confession.

The International Olympic Committee has made it clear that it needs national boxing federations to reach consensus on a new international union so that the boxing can be included in the L.A. 2028 Olympic sports programme."
