New Jersey's State of Emergency went into effect at 8 p.m. Monday for all 21 counties in the Garden State.

States of emergency have been declared in both New York and New Jersey. Flash flood warnings are in now effect in several parts of the region, and a flood watch was expanded across the region with up to 6 inches expected in flood-prone areas and wind gusts as high as 30-40 mph or more.

The storm will continue to gather strength throughout the day in the Mid-Atlantic before it barrels into New England. The evening commute will be very wet, with strong, gusty winds.

The strongest wind will come later this afternoon through the overnight hours, although they will diminish around 1 or 2 a.m.

warned the storm is likely to cause serious flash flooding of up to four inches of rain and winds up to 50 miles per hour.

In City Center, the rain really came down at times overnight, so much so that a small umbrella didn't really get the job done for the many walkers out there.
