Don't Miss the Year's Final Supermoon: A Celestial Spectacle
Don't Miss the Final Supermoon of the Year
The last supermoon of 2024 will happen today! The Beaver Moon will reach its peak illumination at 3:28 PM CST this afternoon.
Get ready for an amazing celestial event! This weekend, the fourth and final supermoon of 2024 will light up the night sky. Mark your calendars for Friday, as the Beaver Moon rises, bigger and brighter than ever.
What is a Supermoon?
A supermoon occurs when the full moon appears larger in the sky due to its orbit and proximity to Earth. November's supermoon follows the supermoons that took place in August, September, and October.
No special equipment is required to see the supermoon, although binoculars or a telescope can enhance the experience.
This full moon is traditionally known as the Beaver Moon. This name comes from Native American tribes, who associated this time with beavers preparing for winter by building dams and gathering food.
How to View the Supermoon
